Hershey Makes $10 Million Pledge

I’m so pleased to be able to write that Hershey is making a $10 million pledge to improve their trade and combat child labor.  Well done, Hershey.  I can’t remember the last time I bought a Hershey project (I’ve been overseas!) but I will make an honest effort to support their fair trade products in the future.  And here’s one way that you can do the same:

The company said in a press release that chocolate consumers will later this year be able to purchase a new version of Hershey’s Bliss brand, which will be 100% made from Rainforest Alliance-certified farms mostly in Ivory Coast and Ghana.

Keep your eyes open for this BLISS brand!  And, make sure that you support only products that say Fair-Trade.  The change in practices will inevitably take a significant amount of time.  Don’t go stock up on s’mores supplies just yet.  Hold out for the products that have the official label.
